Want to change the back-up light switch on my chevy S10 but don't know how can anyone help?

well i need more info, size of engine, and year, but i will try to help you out :)

it may be that in your transmission thier is this one sencer that goes to the back reverse lights and it may be worn out or got shorted:( and i have to get more info theni will help you out a little more u can email me at

standard or automatic? Okay the switch is on the side of the transmission disconnect the two wire plug it is like a 7/8 or bigger wrench make sure your not in reverse this puts extra pressure on the switch. pipe dope tape the new switch get a little drip pan spin the switch out put the other in its place tighten down and plug wires back in and you are in and out in like twenty min.

Switch is on the transmission, but bulbs and sockets are more likely. The S10 has a really cheesy bulb/socket setup(I own one). Also check the fuse (and wiring under the bumper).
