If I held a lightswitch in the middle nine times for seven seconds, do I need to change it?

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING PLEASE! PLEASE READ EVERYTHING

I heard a sizzling sound when I held the lightswitch in the middle, when I leave it on (the switch fully up) I hear no sizzling or popping.

Does the light switch need changing?

You were causing it to semi-conduct. Don't do this, it leaves carbon deposits on the contacts. Too much carbon will require replacement, as electricity doesn't travel very well through carbon deposits and may generate heat in attempting to do so. If it stays on when you switch it on, and off when its off without any further sizzling then its ok. Any heat or sizzling is a good reason to replace. Play with yourself, not the switches. :)
