Can you WASTE Electricity if you leave a light on switch on which has No bulb in it ??????

my hall light blew and i havent changed the bulb

i have two switches which control this light.. one down stairs and one up stairs

now im not sure if its switched on or off

but if it was still on could that be wasting any electricity??

the circuit is open... basically there are three requirements to have a close circuit which means electricity can flow, the following are (load(bulb), source and the switch) if one is lacking then current will not be consumed... try to think of it... hehehehe.

No because nothing is using the electricity up as the circuit is broken due to their being no bulb in the socket.
No
No
I'd say not, seeing as it isn't flowing through the filiment in the bulb, but I could be wrong.
I wouldn't have thought so. Without a bulb there's nothing to draw current.

If I'm wrong, then I expect any wastage would be minimal.
No because no current is flowing.
no as there is no flow or return of electric
No. No circuit = no electricity used.
I have the same setup. If you are using normal 250v bulbs, then you will not be using electricity, because when the light blows, the filament that provides the light burns out, so there is no longer a connection between the pins, but the socket may still be live at the pins! So please be be careful :)
No
no
No you can't. Unless a light bulb is lit up, then no electricity is passing through it and being used.

If you have not got any yet and you want to try some out, you can get three low power light bulbs at Sainsburys for 拢1.

My house is now lit entirely by these low power bulbs - each only about 11 watts.

These energy saving bulbs have a life expectancy of eight [8] years. Compare that to the usual two or three thousand hours of a normal light bulb.
No! definitely not!!
No, electric energy if changed into light will be wasted if not it will not evaporate!
since the bulb blew of

the circuit is broken so no current is flowing through it thus no energy is being used so

dont worry u are not going to get a hefty bill even if u have left the switch on
