I changed a standard light bulb for energy save bulb when switched on it pauses my cd player?

It only happens on 1 particular light switch. When using standard bulb no problem.

That is an interesting effect!!

Try changing the brand of bulb and see if that helps.

The CD player shouldn't pause but it is technically possible.

The energy saving light bulb is built a bit differently to a normal bulb. A normal bulb has a filament which when electricity passes through it it gets hot and glows. The electricity flows through it at 50Hz frequency - the same as the electricity supply.

An energy saving bulb works by getting a gas inside it to glow and to do this it has to be 'excited' by a high frequency - same as a fluorescent tube in fact (if you know about them, you might know of the 'starter' - this generates the high frequency). It is possible that this high frequency is the same as the 'pause' frequency on your CD remote - and so when it is turned on, the frequency from the light bulb pauses the CD. A different brand of bulb might use a slightly different frequency and could be a good thing to try next - if you are very cheeky take the bub back to the shop and change it for another brand.

That's RFI - Radio Frequency Interference!

You might try a different brand of CFL (bulb). Otherwise, plug the CD player into a different outlet.
LOL you should keep it like that. It's cool.
