How to change dash light in 85 delta 88 oldsmobile?

problems

1. the dash light (the one behind the speedometer) blinks on and off .

2. When its decides to stay on the car is soo old that the light is not bright (even when I adjust the interior lights with the knob)

3. I really need to know how to take off the light switch knob (It is in the way of me taking off the dash pannel.

you need to get behind the bezel, there will be a button on top of the switch, or side. You need to pull the headlight knob out and then push the button down and then pull the knob all the way out. Then remove the nut behind it. Best to do this with the battery disconnected or the headlight switch unplugged

Disconnect battery ground cable.

Rotate headlight switch so notch on switch faces downward. Bend a 1/8 inch hook on a piece of stiff wire. Use the wire hook in the notch to pull the knob retainer clip and pull knob off shaft.

Remove twilight sentinel knob.

Position steering column collar upward and remove column lower trim cover.

Remove two screws securing trim cover to cluster carrier, Fig. 13.

Pull trim cover from clips.

Remove radio knobs and cigar lighter.

Remove two screws securing to panel, Fig. 13.

Pull trim cover from panel clips.

Remove radio as outlined under ``Radio, Replace.''

Remove A/C-heater control attaching screws, pull control outward and disconnect control cables and electrical connectors.

Remove switches, clock and disconnect ashtray lamp.

Remove righthand outside remote mirror control screws.

Disconnect shift indicator cable clip.

Remove steering column bolts at floor pan and the nuts from the steering column bracket. Then, lower the steering column and rest steering wheel on seat.

Disconnect speedometer cable.

Remove instrument panel cluster carrier bolts and the two instrument panel screws, Fig. 13.

Remove center air duct screws.

Pull cluster outward to disconnect electrical connectors.

Remove cluster carrier, Fig. 13.

just do what i did with myne :) total it on a pole while flyin through da air after hitting a few embankments :)
