Is changing out a light fixture a hard task?

I have ceiling fan up now and I want to switch it out with a normal (much better looking) light fixture (no ceiling fan) is it easy to figure out? or should I get help?

anyone know where I can find out how to install them?

thanks!

This is a very easy job and the new light you buy will have easy installation instructions!

turn off the breaker to the fixture.....you may want to mark the wires as you remove the old fixture with tape (some wires are black/white...others may just have a stripe on one). takethe old one down, match the wires to the new one (just like the old one) secure it using the hardware with the new light....very easy
Its no big deal. Turn off the power first by switching off the circuit breaker in the panel box. You can find the correct breaker by having someone switch off each one while you watch the light. When the light goes off you have found the correct breaker. Then unscrew the fixture from the bracket and disconnect the wires. There should be at least two but more likely three wires in the ceiling box. If there are only two wires, one will be black and the other white. If there are three wires, there will also be a bare (ground) wire with the black and white ones. The bare one gets connected to the electrical ceiling box. If your new fixture has three wires, connect the green (ground) one to the box with the bare one, and the black and white ones to the black and white wires in the box by twisting them together with wire nuts making sure that no bare wires can touch each other (except the ground wires). Then fasten the fixture to the ceiling box and turn on the power.
