Light switch/outlets?

I'm working on a project in my house and we're changing all of our light switch/outlets. I have a light switch that controls two outlets and was wondering if there was a special switch or outlet or a certain way that I should wire them. Thanks so much!
Light switch/outlets?
Nope, just take out the old switch and put the new one in. The switch is wired exactly the same as if it was switching a light, but it's switching an outlet instead.

If you have ANY doubts as to what you are doing, please call a qualified electrician. His $65 house call will be alot cheaper than a trip to the ER if you injure yourself. Remember-you are dealing with voltage that can kill you.
Light switch/outlets?
can you elaborate ?
You can use a regular switch.

Some people only switch the top half of a duplex outlet. The other half is powered all the time. You might want to check out this aspect because if so the you will need to rewire in the same manner if you want to maintain this option. You will also have to break the tab between the outlet's two sockets.
Not as long as the switch is rated for what you're going to be drawing from the outlets. Careful, now--I once plugged a quartz heater into a wall oulet and didn't realize that it was supplied from a wall switch until it was quiet one night and I heard the switch sizzling. The fuse allowed enough current to flow but the switch (an old one, I'll admit that) couldn't handle the current. Make sure the switch can handle anything that's demanded from it.
From your question, you had better just replace

everything wired just the way is was before.

Trying to make changes will get you in over your

head, and maybe hurt.

Do test those outlets that are switch controlled.

Sometimes only one of the two receptacles is on

the switch wire, the other is always 'hot`.

If this is the case, there will be two wires on one side,

(the brass terminals), of the outlet, and there will be

a little brass jumper broken off on that side of the

old outlet. Do the same on the new one.
