Is it possible to change a switched light to a pull switch? I am wanting to relocate it.?

Yes you can. Turn the power off. Remove the switch from the box and connect the 2 colored wires together with a wire nut. Remove the light fixture and replace with a pull chain fixture. Turn the power back on and you are set.

You may want to check with your inspector. There are places that pull chain fixtures are not allowed. Hope this helps.

It is possible but i would need to know where the switch is now and where you want to put it.

It's possible, and relatively easy. But since you've had to ask the question, get an electrician to do it.
it's possible, but if you do it yourself you'll need a certified electrician to certify the work has been carried out correctly or your house insurance will be invalid...

if you dont know what you're doing get some one in that does
U can do it one of 2 ways. U can add the pull switch light to the existing circuit, leave the wall switch in place but the wall switch will have to remain in the on position permantly so that the pull switch will have power and can be operated by the pull chain when needed. I however would leave the existing light as is as well as the switch. Once you add the pull chain light, you can either %26quot;jump%26quot; your permanent hot off the switch or the existing light (depends on where the hot feed is fed from, usually the switch) and feed the pull chain with a permanent hot so that it can be controlled by the pull chain itself and never be interupted by the wall switch. If the wall switch is a single pole switch, then you will have 2 wires connected (either black and black OR black and white) If its a 3-way switch you will have 3 wires (red, black and white, and which ever wire is undeer the black screw(common), that will be your hot). As for the single pole switch, just test each wire individually(disconnected from the switch) one will be your hot, the other is the switch leg (this is the wire that feeds the light power when the switch is toggled). For what it sounds like, your needs are really simple so I would hire someone to come and do it. If yyou don.t know that much about electrical I would leave it be cause it is very dangerous and if you don't what your looking at, you could easily kill a whole lighting circuit if you route the wires improperly. You could probably have this done for less than $50. If you screw up a circuit or burn your house down, it's alot more expensive (so are funerals). Just be carreful and good luck
Yes, It is possible as others have said.

a fine electrical talk forum.
Very simple electrically, the hardest bit is access to cables. If you have an attic above the ceiling, then job is simple. If you are on the ground floor then work will involve lifting floorboards above switch position, or cutting holes in wall/ceiling. Work is not notifiable as this is a like for like type replacement and you are not altering the electrical characteristics of the circuit. Personally I wouldn't issue a Minor Works Certificate for this job, but it would not harm to ask for one as part of job if using an electrician (helps with insurance aswell). The only other point to consider is location of pull switch if in a bathroom or shower room - look for 'Zones' either on internet, or the back of a box at B%26amp;Q - its on all their bathroom lights.
