its located at the top of the brake pedal and if you never done one take to a shop, if you have cruse control there are vacuum lines up there and you don't want someone unqualified doing a change OK good luck, however they are not hard and don't require many tool just some mechanical knowledge

This is not a difficult task in it self. However the difficult part is just getting to it. By 18 year old daughter is on her second 1998 Escort. I have replaced the switch once on her first car. However on he second car I only had to replace the bumper bad that activated the plunger on the switch. It is pretty simple..plug and play. Just be sure you write down what wire went where and get a good measurement of the placement of the switch in the mounting bracket. Good Luck
