DIY... How do you change light switch and plug socketts?
yes you can, even a cave man can do it. Just be sure to pull the power at the electrical box. Use a radio so you can hear it go off. The the plug and socket you buy has the instructions on the back. Just do one wire at a time and then you got it.
DIY... How do you change light switch and plug socketts?
First, determine which breaker supplies the switches and outlets, and turn the power off. Next, remove the plastic cover plate. Then remove the two screws securing the switch/outlet to the junction box. Remove the old wires (some switches/outlets have screw terminals, while others have push-in terminals - you have to use pliers and give a good pull to remove the wires from the push terminals). Attach the wires to the new outlet/switch (white goes to the silver terminal, black goes to the brass terminal, and the ground wire goes to the green terminal). Reinstall the switch/outlet into the junction box. Install the new faceplate. Turn the power back on.
yes make sure mains off just copy where wires go
